October is Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month.
Fentanyl is a man-made, Schedule II narcotic that has reached a growing number of communities of all sizes across Texas and has impacted so many lives. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), within the last two years, teen overdose deaths related to Fentanyl have tripled. Over half of all overdose deaths are related to Fentanyl use. Death from Fentanyl overdose happens when the respiratory system slows, or not enough oxygen gets to the brain. Educate yourself about the risks and signs of fentanyl use and have conversations with your kids about the dangers of this deadly opioid. Your awareness can make all the difference.

Along with being district champs we have individual winners! Luke Tucker District champ getting 1st place with a time of 13:11. Cohen Repa getting 2nd place with a time of 14:07! Brodie Fudge also getting a medal placing 7th with a 15:15!

Our Granger Lions Cross Country team came out fired up this morning at the District 27 meet! These boys laid it all on the line and it showed. As a team, the boys placed 2nd overall and are headed to Regionals in Corpus Christi on October 21st! We also had 3 runners place top 10 and make Regionals Individually. Kye Welles finishing in 2nd place, Landon Hernandez finished in 4th place and Senior Isaac Campos finished 7th!
Your Granger Lady Lions competed at the District 27 Cross Country meet this morning! We had two of our runner qualify for Regionals Individually. Brooklyn Gaswint placing 5th with a 14:49 and Kendall Welles placing 7th with a 15:14! Your Lady Lions also qualified as a team getting 3rd place overall! These girls are headed to Regionals in Corpus Christi on October 21st!

The Granger Marching Band had an incredible day today at the Brazos Valley Marching Festival!
These talented students earned straight first division ratings and were named Best in Class out of all 2A bands in attendance. We are incredibly proud of their hard work, and this achievement is a testament to their dedication.
