Granger ISD Earns TIA Approval

February 2026

Granger ISD is proud to announce that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has officially approved the district’s 2025–2026 Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designations, submitted based on 2024–2025 teacher effectiveness data.

In addition to approval of this year’s designations, TEA has also approved Granger ISD’s expanded TIA plan, significantly increasing the number of teachers eligible to earn performance-based designations and compensation. This milestone reflects the district’s continued commitment to recognizing and rewarding instructional excellence.

What This Means for Granger ISD Teachers

The Teacher Incentive Allotment rewards highly effective teachers based on student growth and teacher observation data. Teachers may earn one of three designation levels:

  • Recognized: $6,172

  • Exemplary: $12,344

  • Master: $22,574

These designation levels generate additional state funding that allows Granger ISD to invest directly in teacher compensation while strengthening recruitment and retention efforts.

During the 2024–2025 cycle, 23% of eligible teachers earned a TIA designation, demonstrating the high expectations and instructional impact happening across our classrooms.

Even more significant is the district’s expansion of eligibility. From 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, Granger ISD increased the percentage of teachers eligible to earn a TIA designation from 54% to 96%, opening the door for nearly all teachers in qualifying roles to earn additional performance-based compensation.

Expansion of Eligible Teaching Categories

For the 2025–2026 cycle, the expanded TIA plan includes:

  • 3rd–8th Grade Reading & Language Arts

  • 3rd–8th Grade Mathematics

  • Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History

  • 5th & 8th Science

  • 8th Social Studies

  • Pre-Kindergarten

  • K–2 ELAR and Dyslexia

  • Fine Arts (Art I–IV, Music, Band)

  • Physical Education

  • English III, Algebra II, Geometry, Physics, World Geography

  • Career & Technical Education pathways

This expansion reflects Granger ISD’s commitment to building a comprehensive and equitable system that recognizes excellence across elementary and secondary campuses.

Investing in Excellence

The TIA program aligns directly with Granger ISD’s mission of building champions—together. By expanding eligibility and securing TEA approval, more teachers now have the opportunity to earn designation status and performance-based compensation tied to student outcomes and instructional impact.

Granger ISD remains focused on recruiting, retaining, and celebrating exceptional educators, with TIA serving as a key part of that strategy, according to Chief of Academics Dr. Amber Thorsen.

“This journey began in 2023, and we will continue to grow and refine our system each year,” Dr. Thorsen said. “For a small rural Texas district, we are proud to offer competitive compensation for our teachers. Our educators hold high expectations for themselves and for their students, and they deserve to be recognized and compensated for their hard work. TIA allows us to provide even more funding directly to the teachers who earn these designations—rewarding excellence while continuing to strengthen instruction across our district.”

Superintendent Stephen Brosch emphasized the district’s continued commitment to celebrating educators and sustaining high standards.

“As superintendent of Granger ISD, I’m immensely proud to help lead a district that recognizes and rewards excellence through the Teacher Incentive Allotment. Our educators are the heartbeat of our schools, and their remarkable work—innovating classrooms, inspiring students, and lifting our entire community—deserves to be celebrated and supported. This program reflects our commitment to high standards, professional growth, and the bright future we’re building together for every Granger student. As our motto states, Together, we are building champions. The TIA program allows our district to reward the amazing educators who are the foundation of that build.”

With these newly awarded designations, Granger ISD continues to expand the impact of the Teacher Incentive Allotment program, reflecting the talent, dedication, and excellence of our educators.

Teachers who received new designations will receive additional information regarding next steps and compensation details in the coming months.

We celebrate our educators for their dedication to students and their unwavering commitment to excellence.

Congratulations to our Granger ISD teachers on this well-deserved recognition!
