COVID 19 - Granger ISD - Update 3.26.20 3:00 PM
School Closed at least through April 13, 2020
Granger ISD is closely monitoring reports and information shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State Department of Health (DSHS) and Williamson County Health Department about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are in daily contact with health officials from Williamson County and are following the guidance provided by the Texas Education Agency, Texas Health and Human Services and the CDC. At this time, Granger ISD has suspended normal school operations through at least April 13, 2020. During this time, all Granger ISD facilities will be closed for instruction and other purposes, including UIL events, athletics, rentals, field trips, after-school programs and other campus activities.
We will continue our Food Services program offering free sack lunches in the circle in the front of the school through the school closure from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, for all children 18 years of age and under.
Our short-term instructional plan began yesterday, March 25th. Grade level teachers will be working with their students and their instructional development. The Instructional Leadership Team and teachers are in the process of developing long-term instructional plans should they be needed. Please stay in contact with your child’s teacher and continue to check the Instructional Operation Plan tab found on the COVID-19 Support Page for updates. I will continue to provide regular updates as we adapt to these changing conditions.
I encourage you to focus on the safety and health of your families. Continue to be positive, healthy, practice social distancing, practice personal hygiene and continue to wash your hands, as stated by health officials. We realize the decision to close schools has placed hardships on many families throughout the Granger ISD Community. This is a very fluid situation, so we will continue to evolve as we receive new information.
