Moody at Granger

On September 3, Coach Sam Gillespie brought the Moody Bearcats to Granger. Both Moody and Granger seemed pretty evenly matched in terms of size and ability. On the offensive side of the ball Granger dominated both halves of the game with time of possession.  Moody countered each Granger score with a big play to keep the point differential at 1, making it Granger 14-Moody 13 until the final two minutes of the game. With the final ticks remaining on the clock, Moody threw an all or nothing 70 yard touchdown pass to bump the score to 19-14 in their favor. Granger was unable to counter this with only 35 seconds left on the board, taking the loss. Both teams played extremely hard and displayed the utmost character in terms of sportsmanship on the field. Coach Wisdom ended with this quote, “Granted the loss, we (coaches) saw some really positive things tonight in terms of improvement of play. I expect good things to come from this loss, and the guys will be as ready as ever for Meridian. That’s the type of guys they are. Moody is a classy team with a great coaching staff, they will do well.”
