Granger Volleyball in Full Swing
Granger Volleyball Starts Season
The Granger Volleyball Teams have started their 2010 -2011 season. All teams opened with a Saturday Scrimmage in Giddings, which also included Cedar Ridge. A triangular at Rockdale, with the Tigers, and the Eagles from Lexington followed. All teams went to Jarrell to compete Aug. 17thand Aug. 20th in Milano.
The Freshmen Team includes Raquel Luna, Aspynn Kaderka, Amber Salazar, Alex Marinez, Miranda Cervantes, and Myra Lizardo.
The Junior Varsity Team includes Lorena Lizardo, Lizzie Adams, Amy Labja, Desiree Reese, Ashley Dutcher, Cecily Gonzales.
Both sub varsity teams represented Granger with hard fought battles.
The Granger Varsity Volleyball Team is working hard to prepare for their new district. Along with playing the above matches they also played in the Cameron Tournament. The Lady Lions have captured 2 victories against Rockdale and Academy. 2010 Lady Lions include Seniors, Morgan Repa, Samantha Peeples, Maribel Lizardo, and Ande Scott, Juniors Cassidy Miller, Julia Derning, Brooke Cole, Kelly Johnson , Sophomores Cierra Strmiska, Alyssa Wade, and Freshman Madison Outlaw. The Lady Lions have shown continued effort in pursuing their opponents. Each match has shown great improvement in skills and team unity. The Varsity record is 2 wins and 8 losses.
