Get Fit with Granger 5K!

Granger Lakefest 5K
Saturday, May 8, at 8:00 am, the Granger ISD School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) will host the first annual Granger Lakefest Get Fit 5K Walk/Run at the Granger school campus. The proceeds from the event will benefit SHAC to continue its efforts to raise community awareness for fitness and overall health. This past fall SHAC hosted a Community Health Fair to kick off the school wide effort. This year’s sponsors for the Get Fit 5K include Taylor YMCA, Toro Services of Austin, Georgetown RunTex, Taylor Sporting Goods, HEB, Johns Community Hospital and Georgetown Sporting Goods.
Sign-in is at 7:15 a.m.. The cost is $5 for participants. Walkers and runners of all ages, who register by April 23, will receive t-shirts for their participation in the 5K. The route will begin in front of the high school, go east on FM 971 , turn south onto Co. Rd. 348, and turn west on Co. Rd. 347 to head down Bird St. back towards the school. Water stations will be available along the route. Top Finishers of the 5K will be recognized during the downtown Lakefest celebration. All those who complete the race will be entered in a prize drawing that will take place as part of Lakefest.
