Summer Has Arrived

Schoolbus

Granger ISD is serving approximately 100 students K-12. Our students are receiving services related to remediation, developing English proficiency, reading fluency, dyslexia, credit recovery, and other individual needs. Summer school will operate Monday thru Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm. Doors will open at 7:30am and breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:00am. Please try to avoid dropping your children off too early or too late, as there will not be supervision available until approximately 7:30am and breakfast will normally not be served past 7:50.

Elementary students who attend summer school Mon-Thu. will be allowed a "privilege" day on the Friday of that week. "Privilege" days will consist of pizza, movies, field trips, and other rewards for perfect attendance. Permission slips will be sent home with your child at the end of each Thursday and must be returned on Friday in order to participate. If your child happens to be absent, please send them with a parent note or a doctor's note upon his/her return. Depending on the reason for the absence, the student may still be allowed to participate in the "privilege/reward" day.
Granger ISD is providing transportation services for students who rode the bus during the regular school year. A town route will also be ran during summer school. The same route will be ran daily so it is important that both parents and students become familiar with the timing and the route. If there are any questions with regards to "pick-up" points please call the Granger School offices.
Granger ISD will also be offering two additional weeks of summer school (beginning on June 30) for our English language learners or students whose first language is something other than English. Whether or not Granger ISD will be in operation during those two weeks will depend on the number of students/families that express interest in attending. Parents of eligible students will receive a letter providing more details as soon as next week.
So far summer school has ran very smoothly, and we are both thankful for and excited about the opportunity to have this additional time to work with your children.
Please call either office if there are any questions: 512-859-2173 or 512-859-2358

Thank you,

Mr. Jon Ramos
Elementary Principal
