A STOP the Violence workshop was organized by Brianna Billingsley, Josh Dews, Becky Mayer, and Ryan Gagne. The workshop was for junior high students, grades 6th-8th. The mini workshops were presented January 22nd - 25th in the student center. The topics of the sessions were: Bullying & Harassment, Dating Violence, Internet Safety, & Gossiping.
Michael Thornton was introduced along with the State Officer Team at the SPURS Basketball game on Saturday, January 26th. The officer team was escorted onto the basketball court at half time as part of FCCLA night where 500 FCCLA members from all over the state were in attendance. Previously during the date, Michael attended the State Executive Council Meeting to finish planning details for the State Meeting to be held in Galveston in April.
On Monday, January 28, 2008, members of Granger FCCLA conducted a Seat Belt Survey at Granger High School. As parents and students arrived onto campus, students stopped to check to see if seatbelts were being worn. Everyone was given a pamphlet with statistics. Don't be a Dum Dum - Buckle Up.
