2017 Fresh Country Fundraiser

The 2017 Fresh Country fundraiser has now been completed.  Fruit, meats, and desserts items were unloaded Thursday morning and the distribution process began from there.  Thank you to each of our members for selling the Fresh Country fruit, meat, & dessert products.  Thank you to the many Granger ISD employees who supported our fundraiser as well as the many parents and community members who as well bought many of these food items.     

Congratulations to McKenna Stefek for her outstanding efforts in earning the top sales position as well as Junior FFA member Cody Klaus for his outstanding work in earning the runner-up top sales position.  Thank you both for your awesome dedication to your Granger FFA chapter!

Just Recently…….

Congratulations to our FFA members Kylie Cruse, Cheyenne Marek, Jeremy Ramirez, & McKenna Stefek with their “home-made” Youth Fair 2017 projects. 

Kylie’s horticultural terrarium received 2nd place in her class and Reserve Champion overall for the senior division.  In the senior division, Kylie also received 4th place with her wreath, 2nd place with her uniced cake, 8th place with her native landscape photograph, and was also a participant in the domestic animals photography class. 

Cheyenne’s Nut Pie earned senior division Grand Champion and 1st place in her class.  Cheyenne also created an iced cake which placed 4th in the class. 

Jeremy’s Deer feeder placed 1st in the Livestock & Wildlife Equipment class.

McKenna’s 3-D art painting projet placed 1st in her class while her 2-D art painting project placed 2nd in the class.  McKenna’s Strawberry-Lemonade Jelly earned 1st place in her class while her Dream Catcher project also received Reserve Champion for the division. 

Congratulations to all these members for their outstanding placings, efforts, and work completed with these youth fair projects!

Congratulations also to McKenzie Bird, DJ Stefek, and McKenna Stefek for exhbiting thier swine projects Thursday at the 2017 Williamson County Livestock Show.  Thursday Mackenzie earned 8th place with her crossbred pig.  DJ earned 9th place with his Duroc pig.  McKenna earned 5th place with her WOPB pig and 14th with her crossbred pig.  Congratulations to all our FFA members for participating Thursday in the extremely cold weather which included live snow in the show barn!

Congratulations to Cody Klaus for earning two 5th place ribbons exhibiting his goats Tuesday at the Williamson County Livestock Association’s Market Goat show. 

Congratulations to Mackenzie Bird, TJ Hajda, & Michaela Losier for participating in the Williamson County Livestock Association’s Rabbit Show Monday afternoon in which TJ earned 13th & 24th placings for his two pens of rabbits while Mackenzie received a 9th place ribbon for her pen of rabbits.

Congratulations also to McKenna Stefek on her outstanding efforts participating and showing her two pens of chickens in the Williamson County Livestock Association’s Broiler Show Monday morning. 

Congratulations to Mackenzie Bird on being selected as 1 of the top 11 indidviduals exhibiting in the Senior division of the Swine show at the Williamson County Youth Expo in Georgetown November 29th.  Mackenzie also showed both her pigs that day placing 6th and 7th in each of her respective classes.  The day before, Mackenzie was also a pariticipant in the rabbit show alongside classmate Michaela Losier.  Congratulations also to Michaela for placing 12th in the rabbit show! 

Congratulations to Senior Michaela Losier for being selected as the 2017 Granger FFA Sweetheart.  Michaela was escorted by Senior FFA members Jeremy Ramirez & Hunter Schmidt during the pre-game homecoming football festivities on Friday September 29th

Jeremy Ramirez was featured in the September 20, 2017 edition of the Tribune Progress Newspaper.  In the article, Jeremy is highlighted for creating a deer feeder project that he donated to the Granger Livestock Booster Club as an auction item.  Nice job on a well built project Jeremy!   

 

FFA Meetings are held each 1st Monday evening of the month of the school year in the Agricultural Science Building at 7:00pm.
